Gowning in Fab-12 and Fab-39

Fab-12 Gowning

We now have 72 hangers in CORAL. This week was the first time with over 50 hangers engaged in Fab-12!

We’re still waiting for the laundry service to send back our additional gowns for 12 (they need to sow on their barcodes, hence the delay). It’s taking longer than expected, and this Monday (Aug. 17) we will not pull gowns to avoid possible shortages (shouldn’t be, but don’t want to risk it).

As of this Friday, August 14 we still have 57 gowns on the shelf (8 S, 11 M, 17 L, 2 XL, 12 XXL, 2 XXXL), plus enough hoods (65 XL, 13 XXXL, and a ton of M hoods).

Fab-39 Gowning

The cleaning vendor seems to have had trouble, and we are missing 37 boots (11 M, 26 L), 37 gowns (5 M, 29 XL, 3 XXXL), and 38 hoods. This generally happens when bags are sent to the wrong place by the vendor. We send out upset emails and usually the items trickle back in over the next weeks.

Thus, it’s a temporary loss and not a permanent one. We’ll see if the vendor can supply some backup gowns from their own stock to make up for this. It does mean, however, that this Monday-Wednesday (Aug. 17-19) we’ll have a frustrating shortage.

Therefore: we won’t be pulling gowns on Monday, so that we can avoid using backup Tyvek. All ICL/TRL lockers will remain engaged. We are asking users who use both ICL & TRL in a given week to please bag your bunnysuits and hoods in Ziplock bags (onto which you can write your name) & take them between the second and fourth floors as needed and keep them in your lockers. Please do not take any garments out of Bldg 39 (not to Bldg 12, your office, or home).
